Today I want to talk to you about God’s tests. Testing is something we are quite familiar with. There are crash test dummies – cars are put into testing situations and pushed to the limits. We are not unfamiliar with tests. We don’t like tests, but we like it when things are tested. The surgeon has been tested before he gets inside to remove your appendix. We take a drivers test and as I drive around I often note others who maybe should retake the test. David said in Psalms 26:2, “Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind…” Wait, He wants a test? Now there are many trials that come our way, and we consider it pure joy since we know that the testing of our faith produces perseverance. If you keep being late to work, there may be a test coming. But today I want to talk to you about the testing that comes from the Lord. If you ask God for a test, what does the test look like? How do I prepare? how do I know if I passed? Is it a pop quiz? Open book? Is there a study guide? How does God test us? You are going to be surprised by the answer of what the test is, and even more surprised at how simple it is to pass the test.
